ScreenSteps Beta Launched

Thursday, October 26th, 2006

We have just launched a beta site for ScreenSteps, a new application we have developed here at Blue Mango Learning Systems. ScreenSteps basically allows you to quickly capture screenshots and assemble them in a sequence with text descriptions of each picture. This file can then be exported to PDF or HTML.

For example, say that I am trying to show tech support a problem I am having with a certain application. With ScreenSteps I just take a picture of every step of the process by using the built in screen capture feature or by using my favorite screen capture application (such as SnagIt).

ScreenSteps puts every capture in order while I do the capturing. Afterwards I can go back and add a title and description to each image. I can then export to PDF and send it right to tech support. The problem I am having will be very clear.

It is also a great way to teach people how to perform tasks in an application. It is much faster to create than a web video and the file is easier to pass around.

If you would like, download it and try it out.
