Do you evvr mispel words? We do. That is why we are excited to announce ScreenSteps 1.2 beta with…SPELL CHECKING! Sorry it took so long but it is finally here.

You can download the public beta here. Here is a quick overview of the other features that are included in this release:

PDF Improvements

You can now add a custom logo and footer to your PDF documents. You can also add PDF author information. This can all be done in the preferences screen.

Step titles are now added as bookmarks to PDF files.

Capture Palette

ScreenSteps now includes a new Capture Palette. The Capture Palette will float on top of other applications making it much easier to capture images for ScreenSteps lessons.

Animated GIFs ScreenSteps will now leave animated GIFs intact when exporting to HTML.

Read the release notes for more information about other features and fixes.

ScreenSteps Docs Beta 8

We have also made some minor enhancements to ScreenSteps Docs. The main improvement here is that file paths in a project are stored relatively, making it easier to move projects around.

  • "Open last opened project" preference now works
  • Exporting of certain Swedish characters has been corrected
  • A bug introduced by closing the project window in Mac OS X by clicking on the red circle has been corrected
  • Resizing of circles and rectangles that had no borders now works correctly

ScreenSteps 1.1 and New Websites Released

Monday, June 11th, 2007

Last week we launched ScreenSteps 1.1 and three new websites. Needless to say, it was a little busy. I will try to sum things up.

ScreenSteps 1.1 The biggest changes are in the image editor. We have added the following tools:

  • Sequence Tool: This tool allows you to quickly add numbers to an image. View a lesson on how it works.
  •
Line Tool: Draw lines and arrows on images.

Annotation Inspector: The new annotation inspector allows you add fills to rectangles and circles and adjust their opacity.

Additional improvements include a new UI for the image capture section and the ability to drag re-order steps.

ScreenSteps 1.1 is a free download for all registered users of ScreenSteps. You can download it here.

    New Sites

We also launched three new sites last week:

We felt that splitting MediaNotes and ScreenSteps into their own sites would help clarify and simplify the information we were presenting. It was amazing how much easier the sites were to put together once we broke them up.
