GE Voluson 730 Expert and Pro Tutorials Updated
Just last week we released updates to the GE Voluson 730 Expert and Pro 3D/4D and Advanced Features tutorials. This represents a significant milestone for Blue Mango Multimedia. Over the past month we have released training for 3 ultrasound machines (the Expert, Pro and the Philips HD3 system) at or before the product launch date. To our knowledge, the level of training available in the Blue Mango Learning System has never been available in conjunction with a product launch.
The GE Voluson 730 releases are exciting for another reason.
The latest software release on the Voluson 730 Expert and Pro systems is BT05. We now have training available for 3 versions of both the Expert and Pro systems, BT03, BT04 and BT05. What is great is that all of this training material resides in the same application. Application specialists can easily switch between Expert and Pro, BT04 and BT05, and instantly see training information that reflects that specific product.
This is especially important with the BT05 release. The feature set on the GE Voluson 730 Pro was significantly enhanced with this release. Features that had only been available on the Expert (STIC, VCI Static, VCI-A, and VCI-C) were added to the Pro. In addition new features that were being added to the Expert were also included with the Pro (TUI, Volume Compression, HD-Zoom, and Probe Orientation). This meant a significant revision to the training materials for the Pro.
Instead of just cramming the new information in we went back and totally rebuilt the Pro training. We included lessons that covered how to perform 3D and 4D exams to teach users to overall concept of how the machine functioned. We then rewrote the training for the different visualization modes. What resulted was a training piece that taught more information in less time.
Even with these major overhauls to the training material we were able to release the training at the time of product release. This was possible because we have built a very powerful development engine with the Blue Mango Learning System.
Here is an example of how powerful this system is. A few days before we were to release the Expert tutorials we found out that all of the screens for a certain feature had been changed around. We quickly grabbed the new graphics and in one day had updated the entire lesson.
Now if we had been doing a training video this would have been disastrous. We would have had to re-shoot everything. But the modular nature of our development system allowed us to target the areas that had been affected and make the necessary changes.

Dr. Imad- We don't offer actual technical support on ultrasound systems or perform upgrades on the systems themselves. Your best bet is to contact the GE dealer for your area. You can probably find them via http://www.sonoportal.net/.
We also have not performed any comparisons between different ultrasound manufacturers.
Our tutorials do give a very good overview of the 3D/4D features on the GE Voluson 730 but right now they are only available if you purchase them.

GE Healthcare is now taking over distribution of the tutorials we produce. They will be making them available to customers who have purchased or are purchasing Voluson units directly from GE. We will soon be posting information about who to contact at GE for more information.

Dumitru - here are some answers: 1. With BT05 the Pro added some features from the Expert but they are still different machines. It all depends on the combination of features you require. You will be best to speak with a GE rep about the differences (they also now have the e8 and Voluson-i systems available). 2. We do not currently sell our tutorials. GE distributes them and as far as I know they are only available to GE customers who purchase directly from GE. Contact the GE sales rep in your area to find out more information.
